| $5,000 donation made to the GFWC Woman’s Club of Homestead |
The 1st National Bank of South Florida recently
made a donation of $5000 to the GFWC Woman’s
Club of Homestead in appreciation of the
club’s involvement, contributions, and hard
work towards improving the quality of life
in the South Dade area over the past 90
years.
The GFWC Woman’s Club of Homestead, incorporated
in 1914, and celebrating its 90th anniversary
this past September, was organized and operated
for charitable and educational purposes.
The most recent benefactors of the Club’s
generosity are the Good Hope Equestrian
Center, Operation Smile International, and
Safe Space.
The Homestead Woman’s Club projects have
had a strong impact on the community over
the years. Among other projects, the Club
was instrumental in the founding of the
Florida Pioneer Museum, and the Community
Concerts Series in Homestead. The Club also
supports and is active in other organizations
as well, including the Relay for Life, Homestead
YMCA, Homestead Hospital, the Miss Homestead
Scholarship Drive and many other worthwhile
groups and causes.
The Club’s various fund raising efforts
include a concession stand at the Homestead
Rodeo, the Club building rental for other
social functions, sales at the very popular
Country Store and Kitchen Gems.
Joining the GFWC Woman’s Club of Homestead
means that you become part of a fun, energetic,
and worthwhile organization. Anyone interested
in becoming a member is welcome to attend
the Club’s meetings, the third Tuesday of
each month at the clubhouse located at 17905
