1st
National Bank of South Florida recently
came to the aid of the Homestead
Soup Kitchen with a donation of
a computer, monitor, and Internet
access. Mr. William “Bill”
Losner, Chairman and President of
1st National Bank of South Florida
went to Juanita Smith and her Board
of Directors with the generous offer
of the equipment, on-line access
and $2,000 towards other expenses
that the Kitchen incurs on a daily
and monthly basis.
The
Homestead Soup Kitchen was in dire
need of the computer in order to
keep track of its food inventory,
contributions, and to meet the requirements
of organizations such as the United
Way that provide major funding.
Michael Ogden, Technology Officer
for 1st National Bank, installed
the equipment in the offices of
the Soup Kitchen.
“We are so pleased to have
this wonderful computer, I know
it will make running the Kitchen
a lot easier from now on,”
Juanita Smith (pictured above) commented,
as she worked on her computer donated
by 1st National Bank of South Florida.
“It
is a vital service that the Homestead
Soup Kitchen continues to fulfill
for those less fortunate in their
walk through life. Keeping the Kitchen
operational and serving meals to
those in need should be a major
priority in our community,”
Mr. Losner noted, as he presented
a check to the Homestead Soup Kitchen
Board of Directors. The
Homestead Soup Kitchen is open Monday,
Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon
until 1:30 p.m. For more information
on how you can help or to volunteer
