Just in time for the holidays, 1st National Bank of South Florida has made another donation to the Homestead Soup Kitchen, in the form of a Victory, two door, super chiller/refrigerator, almost five feet wide by seven feet tall. Previously, the Bank has given the Kitchen a computer system and has made monetary donations.
The bank’s Krome Avenue employee kitchen area, where the refrigerator was located, is being renovated and the bank decided that the refrigerator could be put to better use at the Soup Kitchen.
David Peyton, President of 1st National Bank; Robert Ares, Executive Vice President; and Saundra Lange, Senior Vice President, were on hand to supervise the move, along with Juanita Smith, president of the Soup Kitchen, and Grady Brown, kitchen manager and cook
The Homestead Soup Kitchen is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon until 1:30 pm and is located at 105 S.W. 3rd Road. The Kitchen is always in need of volunteers to help serve food for just an hour and a half a day. Service clubs and other organizations are encouraged to call Ms. Smith at 305.245.7448.
Donations in the Homestead Soup Kitchen’s name are being accepted at all of 1st National Bank’s locations.
