For almost 10 years, a group of 1st National Bank of South Florida employees have worked together as a top fund-raising team in the annual American Cancer Society of Homestead Relay for Life. Previously, this special team either placed or came in first in their fund raising efforts.

The most recent Relay for Life event took place at the Homestead Hospital this past April and all memebers of the 1st National Bank team, co-captained by Mary Schultz and Margaret McAlister, set and met their goals with great success. Team members held bake sales, car washes, garage sales and raffles throughout the year, and with very strong support from the community and sponsorship from 1st National Bank, the team raised over $11,000.00, the most money raised by any of the participating Homestead teams.

Co-captain Mary Schultz was recognized as the top fund raising individual in Homestead overall and was honored with the Star Fundraiser trophy. Other members of the team included Ana Marie Sanders, Idania Kestel, Irene Jimenez, Jocy Feliz, Kristina Cisco, Lucrecia Gonzalez-Jimenez, Maria Detres, Pat Bradley, Sarah Anderson, Sheena Clapperton, Tarah Hebson and Tori Carney. A big Thanks goes out to the community, co-workers, families and 1st National Bank for all their support and encouragement.
