A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 26, 2009, commencing the construction of El Charrito Plaza, a new 5,500 sq ft shopping center located at 636 West Palm Drive in Florida City, Florida. The shopping center is owned by Alamgir and Fatima Kabir. Serving the South Florida community for over 14 years, this will be the couple’s third convenience store in the area. The two other locations include El Charrito Supermarket, located at 708 SW 6th Ave. in Homestead, and El Charrito Food Mart, located at 333 W. Palm Drive, in Florida City. El Charrito Mini Mart (new location), located at 636 West Palm Drive, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days per week and will also have a walk-up window for your convenience. Financing for this project will be provided through 1st National Bank of South Florida.
