William Losner, Chairman of the Board of 1st National Bank of South Florida, has announced the appointments of Robert Ares, Steven D. Losner, and John Alger as Advisory Directors to the Board of Directors.
Robert Ares has been appointed as an Advisory Director to the Board of Directors of 1st National Bank of South Florida. Mr. Ares began his career at the Bank in 1982 as a part-time teller. He currently serves the Bank in the capacity of Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer/Cashier. In 1990, he earned his B.A. in Management graduating Magna Cum Laude and his M.B.A. in 2005 from Saint Leo University.
Steven D. Losner, a well known attorney and former Vice Mayor of the City of Homestead, has been appointed as an Advisory Director to the Board of Directors. Mr. Losner holds a B.A. in finance from Stetson University and is a graduate of Mercer University School of Law. In 1992 he established the Law Office of Steven D. Losner in Homestead. As an active member of the community, Mr. Losner has been the past President of the Rotary Club of Homestead and was a founding member and past President of Homestead Main Street. He served on the City of Homestead Council from 2001 to 2007 and has been a member of the 1st National Bank of South Florida Advisory Council since 1989. Mr. Losner currently resides in Homestead with his wife Lori and their three children. John Alger, a prominent member of the farming community and owner and President of Alger Farms, Incorporated has been appointed as an Advisory Director to the Board of Directors of 1st National Bank of South Florida. Since 1982, Mr. Alger has been responsible for crop care and harvesting for Alger Farms, Inc. and oversees the packing house operations. He successfully initiated the tree farm division of Alger Farms, Inc. in 1982. A graduate of Cornell University in 1981, Mr. Alger holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. He has been a Director of the Dade County Farm Bureau and a member of 1st National Bank of South Florida's Advisory Council since 1989. In 2008 he was elected to the Farm Credit of South Florida ACA Board of Directors.
